Our Devon Rex Queens

Red Mink Bicolour Longhaired Devon Rex

Teddy joined our cattery from Di Hobson of Curliwinks and holds a special place in our hearts as our very first Longhaired Devon Rex. Arriving at two years of age and unproven, bringing Teddy into our breeding programme was a leap of faith. Thankfully, she proved to be simply a late bloomer and has since gifted us with three beautiful litters, making a valuable contribution to our longhaired Devon breeding programme.

A striking girl with a tall, elegant frame, Teddy combines beauty with an abundance of intelligence, sometimes a little too much for her own good! She has mastered the art of opening doors, enjoys sneaking outside for supervised garden adventures, and can often be found perched on the highest spots in the kitchen, surveying her kingdom.

Despite her independent nature, Teddy has a wonderfully affectionate side. Her favourite place in the world is curled up on someone's chest, where she is happiest receiving cuddles and attention. Her loving temperament, unique character, and stunning longhaired coat have made her a treasured member of our family.

Now approaching five years of age, Teddy is entering her final breeding season before retiring to a carefully chosen forever home, where she can enjoy the pampered life she so deserves.

❤️ Teddy's legacy will continue through her offspring, and we are incredibly grateful for everything she has brought to our cattery.

Chocolate Devon Rex

Fudgey joined Highglow from Alex of Apokalypt Devon Rex in Whangārei and has been a treasured part of our breeding programme ever since. A beautiful solid chocolate girl, she combines excellent type, a rich coat, and a wonderfully easy-going nature.

An exceptional mother, Fudgey has produced a stunning range of solid-coloured kittens, including chocolate, cinnamon, lilac, and fawn. Several of her offspring now live in Australia, including two sons who have gone on to become breeding studs, extending her influence beyond our cattery.

More than anything, Fudgey consistently passes on her affectionate temperament and sweet nature, qualities that have made her descendants so special.

Following a carefully planned mating in Australia, Fudgey has returned home and is expecting her final litter. This exciting pairing brings valuable new bloodlines to Highglow and will allow us to carry her line forward through future generations.

After raising her last babies, Fudgey will retire from our breeding programme to enjoy a well-earned, pampered life in a loving forever home.

❤️ Fudgey's contribution to Highglow has been immense, and her legacy will continue through the many beautiful descendants she leaves behind.

Brown Classic Tabby Bicolour Devon Rex

Penny is, without question, Karla's girl. Affectionately known as "The Chosen One"  by Andrew, Penny is rarely more than a few steps away from her favourite human. Whether she's patiently waiting on the bath mat during shower time, curling up on Karla's chest while she's relaxing in the bath, or claiming her place in Karla's arms every night, Penny's devotion is unwavering. In fact, she often leaves very little room in the bed for Andrew and has been known to display a touch of jealousy when another cat, or even another person, tries to compete for Karla's attention.

A beautiful brown classic tabby bicolour, Penny is impossible to overlook. Her most striking feature is undoubtedly her expressive eyes. Karla often jokes that Penny can look straight into her soul with them, and anyone who has met her can understand exactly what she means.

Born from two of our foundation breeding cats, Alwynrose Versace Mo and Curliwinks Mr Bojangles, Penny carries many of the qualities we value most in our breeding programme. She boasts excellent head type with large, low-set open-belled ears, a pronounced nose break, strong chin, and lovely whisker pads. She is a well-balanced girl with a full, consistent coat

throughout, although she inherited slightly shorter legs than some of her relatives.

Penny has already proven herself to be an important part of our breeding programme. Her recent matings with both Stan and Elf have produced some truly outstanding kittens, showcasing exceptional type and quality. We have been particularly proud to see several of her offspring selected by fellow breeders to help further and strengthen breeding programmes of their own.

While her conformation and achievements speak for themselves, it is Penny's unwavering loyalty and loving nature that make her so special to us. She is a constant shadow, a devoted companion, and one of the most cherished members of the Highglow family.

❤️ Penny represents both our past and our future, carrying forward the legacy of some of our most treasured lines while creating an exciting legacy of her own.

 Blue Point Bicolour Devon Rex
Shorthaired, carrying the Longhair gene

Hillary is a truly stunning blue point bicolour girl and also carries cinnamon, adding valuable diversity to our breeding programme. She is an elegant, eye-catching queen with long, graceful legs that give her a striking presence wherever she goes.

One of Hillary's standout features is her exceptional ear set and size, beautifully complementing her overall type. She carries a lovely fully developed coat with excellent curl and texture, and presents as a balanced, feminine Devon Rex. As breeders, we are always striving for perfection, and if we were being particularly critical, we would like to see slightly more defined whisker pads. However, this is a minor consideration in an otherwise beautifully balanced girl.

While Hillary can be a little reserved when meeting strangers, those fortunate enough to earn her trust are rewarded with unwavering devotion. Her chosen person is Andrew, and she shares a special bond with him that perfectly showcases the loyalty and affection Devon Rex are known for.

As a breeding queen, Hillary has been nothing short of exceptional. She consistently produces large, healthy litters that seem to be filled with miniature versions of herself. An outstanding mother, she births easily, has an abundance of milk, and raises contented, well-fed kittens that thrive under her care. Her babies are typically plump, happy, and relaxed, growing into adventurous, curious, and confident young Devons.

Several of Hillary's offspring have also been selected by fellow breeders to join their breeding programmes. There is perhaps no greater compliment than having respected breeders place their trust in your lines, and we are incredibly proud to see Hillary's influence continuing both within Highglow and beyond.

❤️ With her beautiful type, exceptional mothering ability, and consistently outstanding offspring, Hillary has become an invaluable part of the Highglow story and a queen whose legacy will continue for generations to come.

 Solid Blue Devon Rex

Umiko joined Highglow from Bec of Starseed Devon Rex in Queensland, Australia, bringing with her some exciting new bloodlines for our breeding programme. Through her maternal lineage, Umiko traces back to imported lines from Japan and Vietnam, providing valuable genetic diversity and helping to broaden our breeding pool while maintaining excellent breed quality.

Umiko is one of those cats who quietly goes about her day without ever demanding the spotlight. Gentle, easy-going, and completely drama-free, she is content to simply observe the world around her and enjoy the comforts of home. While she is friendly with everyone, she has made it quite clear that Andrew is her preferred human, happily seeking out his company while merely tolerating Karla's attempts to win her affection.

As a mother, Umiko is nothing short of devoted. Her kittens are her entire world, and she takes her maternal responsibilities very seriously. In fact, she is often reluctant to leave their side long after they should be becoming independent. The result is a litter of exceptionally content, well-fed, and beautifully raised kittens that benefit enormously from her unwavering care and attention.

Currently raising her second litter, a mating to Stan, Umiko has produced an all-solid litter showcasing some lovely qualities. She consistently passes on her excellent plush coat, with outstanding coverage and texture. In terms of type, Umiko is a moderate girl, carrying a sturdy, stocky build that contributes to her strong overall balance and soundness.

While Umiko may not be the loudest or most attention-seeking member of our household, her quiet nature, dedication as a mother, and valuable pedigrees make her an important part of the Highglow breeding programme.

❤️ With her international heritage, outstanding mothering instincts, and consistently happy, thriving kittens, Umiko is helping to bring valuable new diversity and quality to future generations at Highglow.

 Chocolate Bicolour Longhaired Devon Rex

Cossie is another special addition from Bec of Starseed Devon Rex, coming to us via Di Hobson of Curliwinks. With her wonderful temperament and exciting pedigree, she has quickly become an important part of our longhaired breeding programme.

A sweet-natured and affectionate girl, Cosmic absolutely adores human company and is happiest when receiving attention. While she enjoys the company of other cats, she is not particularly fond of large colonies and prefers a more intimate setting where she can soak up as much human affection as possible.

As a first-generation Longhaired Devon Rex, Cosmic's coat is still a work in progress. While her coat can be somewhat patchy in places, she possesses many of the structural qualities we are striving to develop within our longhaired lines. One of Cosmic's most charming features is her wonderfully mischievous expression. With her broad cheeks and distinctive Devon Rex head shape, she often sports a slightly grumpy "gremlin" look that we absolutely adore. This impish expression is highly characteristic of the breed and only adds to her unique character and appeal.

Cosmic is still a young queen, but she is already producing lovely kittens and showing great promise for the future of the programme. As a mother, she is attentive and caring, though she has her own ideas about where kittens should be raised. In Cosmic's opinion, the carefully prepared kittening pen is entirely unnecessary when there is a perfectly good bed available instead. More than once, Karla has woken in the middle of the night to find Cosmic has delivered one of her babies directly into the bed, convinced this is clearly the superior nursery arrangement!

Despite her occasional quirks, Cosmic has proven to be a valuable addition to Highglow. Her combination of temperament, pedigree, and structural strengths gives us plenty to build upon as we continue developing our longhaired lines.

❤️ With her affectionate nature, exciting genetics, and outstanding structural qualities, Cosmic represents an important step forward in the future of our Longhaired Devon Rex programme.

Red Classic Tabby & White Maine Coon

Tilly holds a special place in our Maine Coon programme as our very first breeding female. Bred by Zena and Liz of Kittycourt Maine Coons in Dunedin, she provided the foundation upon which we have built our Maine Coon lines and has been an invaluable addition to Highglow.

Tilly boasts an exceptional pedigree, with her sire being the impressive Double Grand Champion Incus Killian, an import from Great Britain. She inherited many of her father's striking features and has consistently passed these qualities on to her own offspring, making her influence clearly visible throughout the generations she has produced.

Just as importantly, Tilly has met the health standards we expect of our breeding cats, with normal hip scores and clear heart scans, giving us confidence in both her health and the future generations she contributes to our programme.

Physically, Tilly is one of the larger females in our cattery and exemplifies many of the traits we strive for in the Maine Coon. She possesses excellent bone structure, impressive body and leg length, a strong square muzzle, and large well-set ears, creating a balanced and powerful overall appearance.

Over her breeding career, Tilly has produced numerous outstanding kittens for us, consistently passing on her size, type, and affectionate nature. Several of her offspring have become particularly notable examples of the breed, and we have been thrilled to watch them develop into impressive adults. Her daughter, Highglow Midnight Opal, has inherited much of her mother's exceptional size and type and will continue Tilly's legacy within our breeding programme.

As Tilly approaches retirement at the end of the year, we reflect on the enormous contribution she has made to Highglow. From establishing our Maine Coon lines to producing exceptional offspring, she has exceeded every expectation and leaves behind a legacy that will continue through future generations.

❤️ As the foundation queen of our Maine Coon programme, Tilly's influence will remain woven into the fabric of Highglow for years to come.

Blue Silver Classic Tabby Maine Coon

Queenie joined Highglow from Victoria of Remmers Maine Coons and is the foundation of our silver breeding programme. With lines tracing back to Belarus and Germany, she brings valuable European bloodlines and genetic diversity to our cattery.

Health tested with Grade 1 hips and clear heart scans, Queenie meets the standards we expect from our breeding cats.

Like many European-line Maine Coons, Queenie was slow to mature, but now in her third year she has developed beautifully. She boasts a lovely square muzzle, strong bone, excellent muscularity, and a beautiful fine-textured silver coat. Her substantial size and powerful build are hallmarks of her pedigree.

Motherhood has improved with maturity, and Queenie is thoroughly enjoying her latest litter, showing a level of confidence and attentiveness that continues to grow with experience.

Her kittens combine the best of both European and Australasian bloodlines, producing beautiful type with impressive size, bone, and substance while maintaining the attractive modified wedge head that we favour in our breeding programme.

❤️ As the foundation of our silver programme, Queenie is helping shape an exciting future for Highglow through her quality, pedigree, and promising offspring.

Black Smoke Tortie Maine Coon

DOB 13.03.26

Sola is our keeper kitten from the mating of our now-retired queen Kittycourt Sea Smoke and Incus Killian, and represents a continuation of some of our most treasured lines. Sharing her mother's beautiful black smoke tortie colouring, Sola brings valuable colour genetics to our breeding programme, allowing for a wide range of colour outcomes, including the possibility of producing solid blue offspring.

Health tested with normal hips and a clear heart scan, Sola has made an excellent start to her breeding career.

Still a young queen and not yet fully matured, Sola has already raised her first litter and has shown all the signs of following in her mother's footsteps as a wonderful mum. She has taken naturally to motherhood, and we are excited to watch both her confidence and maternal instincts continue to develop with experience.

Sola has inherited many of the qualities that made her parents such important contributors to our programme, and we believe her best years are still ahead of her. She is planned to have another litter towards the end of 2026, and we look forward to seeing how she matures both as a queen and as a representative of her lines.

❤️ As the next generation of a much-loved family line, Sola carries exciting potential for the future of Highglow, and we can't wait to watch her journey unfold.

Black Silver Shaded Maine Coon

Luna is the daughter of Remmers Queen of Hearts ("Queenie") and was one of two kittens we retained from Queenie's first litter, alongside her brother Thor. As Queenie took some time to embrace motherhood and experienced a difficult first delivery, we felt it was important to preserve these valuable bloodlines within our programme.

Affectionately known as "Luna the Lunatic," she has certainly inherited some of her mother's personality. Luna approaches life at full speed, bringing plenty of energy, curiosity, and just a touch of neuroticism to everything she does. Thankfully, maturity is beginning to soften some of her more exuberant tendencies, though she still likes to keep us on our toes.

A striking black silver shaded, Luna possesses beautiful colouring with the added silver creating a lovely contrast throughout her coat. She is a tall, elegant young female with excellent body length and a refined appearance. At this stage she is still developing and lacks some of the substance and strength we ultimately hope to see, but we expect this to improve as she reaches full maturity.

Type is progressing nicely, and we are pleased with how she is developing overall. As a young queen, Luna still has plenty of growing and maturing ahead of her, and we look forward to watching her continue to develop into the impressive adult we believe she has the potential to become.

❤️ With her beautiful silver colouring, promising type, and valuable pedigree, Luna represents an exciting part of the next generation of our Maine Coon breeding programme.

Black Silver Tortie Tabby & White Maine Coon

Sophie is the daughter of our foundation queen Kittycourt Oonagh ("Tilly") and has inherited many of the qualities that have made her mother such an important part of our breeding programme. Her striking black silver tortie tabby and white colouring is a particular favourite of ours, beautifully showcasing the silver genetics within our lines.

With normal hip scores and clear heart scans, Sophie has made an excellent start to her breeding career. She carries the exceptional size, strong bone, and lovely type seen in both her mother and grandfather. Still a young female, she has already reached Tilly's size and is only now beginning to develop the impressive ruff and furnishings that are characteristic of mature Maine Coons.

Sophie is a gentle, affectionate girl who is much less dominant than her mother was at the same age, making her an easy-going member of our colony.

Mated to Highglow Blue Diamond, bringing together two Highglow-bred cats, Sophie produced an impressive first litter of nine kittens. She took naturally to motherhood and raised her babies with confidence and ease. The quality of the litter was reflected by two kittens joining breeding programmes, while we retained a daughter, Highglow Midnight Ophelia, to continue these lines within Highglow.

❤️ With her beautiful colouring, excellent type, gentle nature, and promising offspring, Sophie is proving to be a worthy continuation of Tilly's legacy.

   Black Silver Tabby Maine Coon

Polly is the daughter of Remmers Queen of Hearts ("Queenie") and was one of two daughters we chose to retain from Queenie's very first litter, alongside their brother, Thor. As Queenie experienced a challenging first delivery and took some time to settle into motherhood, it was important to us to preserve these treasured bloodlines within our breeding programme.

Affectionately known as "Polly Anna," she is the very image of her mother. In fact, as Polly continues to mature, it becomes increasingly difficult to tell the two apart. She has inherited Queenie's beautiful expression, presence, and many of the qualities we admire most.

A striking black silver tabby, Polly boasts a lovely profile and beautiful colouring. The silver adds stunning contrast throughout her tabby pattern, enhancing her overall elegance and creating a truly eye-catching appearance.

❤️Polly's type is developing beautifully, and we are extremely pleased with her progress so far. Still a young queen, she has plenty of maturing ahead of her, and we look forward to watching her continue to blossom into the impressive adult we believe she has every potential to become.
